The baseball field

I had a dream last night. An angel stood in the dugout of a baseball field. A baseball field? I don’t know why a baseball field, but there he was. It seemed that many children could see him, and so could I. But most adults saw nothing.

The order of events in this dream were confused. At one point, the angel was with me at the mechanics shop, telling me what was wrong with my car. It seemed that his information was going to get my car fixed faster and cheaper and the mechanic was short on time. As usual, I was short on funds. At least I think it was my car, but the angel was definitely there telling me what I needed to know.

The angel and I had a talk. I seem to remember being in a clubhouse like setting – just the two of us. He told me that he was there to watch over people. I could see he was very tenderhearted and mild mannered. When I asked if he was ever human (he looked human), he said he was.

I expressed my confusion at this, since my understanding is that angels are spiritual beings created specifically as angels by God. I did not think that men were to become angels when they die. This angel said that some do. It is important to God what is in a man’s heart. I didn’t get the feeling that he was being prideful, only that he had a heart for children, specifically, which might explain why he was watching over people at a baseball field.

Before I woke up, children began asking questions. I don’t remember the questions or the answers. I only remember the calmness and sincerity of the moments.

It was just before I left the dream that I realized that not everyone could see the angel. Some were afraid at the beginning of the dream, thinking he was a ghost. But at the end, there were few who saw him still watching over us all.
